Bryce Park’s main attraction is its natural amphitheaters filled with “hoodoos,” colorful rock spires and pinnacles of many different sizes and shapes. Encompassing an elevation range of approximately 2,000 feet, Bryce Park also exhibits astounding biodiversity. Dozens of mammal species, approximately 100 species of birds and over 1,000 plant species make their home in the park. Another attraction of Bryce Park is its incredible visibility and fresh air. On clear nights, visitors can see more stars than practically any other location in North America. On clear days at Yovimpa and Rainbow points, visitors can see for 100 miles or more in many different directions.
Bryce Park, however, is not the only attraction in the area. Visitors can also enjoy the Paunsaugunt Wildlife Museum, which features natural-looking dioramas that exhibit over 450 species of wildlife from around the globe. Another wildlife attraction nearby is the Bryce Canyon Elk Preserve, which is home to a herd of bull elk visitors may view aboard a horse-drawn wagon or in the comfort of their own cars. Within 20 miles of Bryce Park, visitors will find other spectacles of colorful rock formations: Kodachrome Basin State Park and Red Canyon.
